WINONA FASHIONISTAS ARE CHANGING THE CAMPUS STYLE GAME

Do you have that one outfit you’re always dying to wear out on the weekends, but it may be just a little too glam or edgy to wear to your college campus bar? Well, in a town like Winona, Minn., their very humble community brings very humble attire. Our Winona campus ambassadors set out to change the modest atmosphere and have a night dedicated to those giant black pumps, wild colored lipsticks and sassy plunging v-necks – something Winona State University students tend to stray away from.

Over 100 students showed up to the “You Wouldn’t Wear That in Winona” event, strutting in their not-so-bashful shoes and acknowledging the photographers perfect selfie-lighting. Photographer, Lynsey Holm, took photos for the ambassadors to put on their new WRUW Facebook and Instagram pages as well as our WRUW app (check the pictures out, they’re so cute). With all their photo-ops, be sure to also check out their hashtag for the night “WSUWRUW” where they will be holding a contest for the top three photos with the most likes.

Together, the Winona State WhatRUWearing Ambassadors hope to empower women at the university to dress to impress every day of the week. So far, they think it’s working.
